musical journey of coping with trauma
Coping is an electroacoustic piece that brings the listener through multiple arcs of chaos and calmness. Though the sections have much contrast, it remains ambiguous which parts inflict pain and which are sources of recovery.
Coping uses granular synthesis to create its gestures. However, instead of small, split-second grains, I use larger multi-second grains, a technique I like to call “gravel synthesis”.
